Pablo Requena was born in Malaga, Spain in 1968. He studied law at Malaga University,
but has always had a passion for the guitar. He visited several
workshops in Andalucia and worked in Angel Canete's guitar workshop
where he learnt about guitar construction methods and guitar
restoration.
In 1996 Pablo moved to England where he quickly got in contact
with the local guitar makers in Sussex. The person who has influenced
him the most is Stephen Hill who has been a great friend and
mentor. Other makers like Rohan Lowe and Richard Osborne (makers
of mandolins and bouzoukis) have also contributed with their
valuable experience.
Pablo has his workshop in Lewes, a beautiful historic town
in East Sussex, where he has been working producing instruments
of the highest quality.
Pablo has a great interest in old guitars, as they can show us
what makers of the past have achieved and how they made their
instruments to retain musical qualities that last through the
years.
